Affordability – Keep The American Dream Within Reach

Prices have skyrocketed directly because of never-ending overspending by Congress, bad energy policy, and over-regulation of residential housing construction. We should:

Annual Federal Budget Deficits cause inflation and add to our crushing National Debt that currently costs the American taxpayers $1 Trillion every year to service.  Since Americans are already overtaxed at every level of government, we should balance the federal budget exclusively by cutting spending, not by raising taxes.

Federal law since the mid-1970s has required Congress to pass a Budget by April 15th every year and pass all 12 appropriations bills by June 15th every year, so the funding bills can be signed into law by the President before the start of the next fiscal year on October 1st.  Congress rarely complies with this law because the law does not prescribe penalties for failing to do so, and there are too many political incentives not to.  Instead, every year we see Congress return to DC from a long summer vacation to face a manufactured, end-of-fiscal-year government shut-down crisis complete with wasteful omnibus bills, foolish Continuing Resolutions, and the like.  Congress must return to Regular Order.

Gasoline:  Open up more federal land for oil exploration, reduce agency regulations for opening new oil wells, provide tax breaks for companies that successfully open new oil-producing wells, and reduce the regulations that make building new oil refineries prohibitively expensive.

Electricity: Increased crude oil production will increase the supply of natural gas, which will reduce the cost of electricity.  Deploy small-scale nuclear reactors both for internet/AI data centers and for strengthening the current grid.

Provide federal tax breaks for completed multi-family housing projects and for completed homes for first-time buyers.  Allow federal land to be purchased (at reduced prices) by states and cities designated directly for housing.  Ban any foreign nation, foreign-owned corporation, or non-resident individual from buying residential properties.  Deregulate housing as much as possible.

I believe life begins at conception and ends at natural death.  On my first day in Congress, I will submit a constitutional amendment to end Abortion in America and begin work on a multi-year, multi-phase legislative and legal strategy to end the slaughter of the innocent unborn.  I am an Abolitionist.

The objective is not merely prohibition, but transformation — aligning federal law, public policy, and cultural norms toward protection of both mother and child.  Check out this whitepaper to see the path to abortion abolition and making abortion unthinkable.

I will oppose any new infringements on your Second Amendment right, and I will introduce or co-sponsor legislation to:

– Repeal the National Firearms Act of 1934

– Repeal the Gun Control Act of 1968

– Repeal the Hughes Amendment to the Firearm Owners’ Protection Act of 1986

It’s one thing to balance the federal budget; it is another to right-size the entire federal enterprise.  They say, “The larger the government the smaller the people.”  Well, I prefer, “The smaller the government the freer the people”.  Let’s do this!  Entirely abolish the US Departments of Energy, Education, Labor, and Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and many of the 200+ federal agencies, bureaus, and commissions.  Every dollar not going to the federal government is money better spent by you and your family back home.
